Back button history broken

Problem with the Safari browser on my IPad 2, gcurrent iOS: the back button takes me back but not to the most
recent state in the history for that URL. I end up back to some previous history-state. If I tap the reload circle-arrow i
I then get the most recent state.

Does this happen for anyone else? Is this a known Safari bug?

I've never heard of this happening before. Have you tried closing safari by double tapping the home button to bring up the multitasking bar and then holding the safari app till a minus sign appears. This shuts the app down and may solve your problem. If this fails try turning your iPad off and then on again, and if this doesn't work perform a reboot by holding the home and power key till the iPad turns off and then turn it back on like normal.

This is apparently an issue with iOS 5. It happens with mine all the time. There is another thread that discusses this but the last time I looked there was no fix.

Shut down does not help. Does anyone know if Apple is aware of this?
