Australian micro sims for ipad2

Hello
I'm a newbie in UK, Humberside area, with iPhone 3GS and iPad2

Does anyone have info on PAYG micro sims for data only in Australia.
Will I be able to just install the sim, or will I need to sync with iTunes.
That won't be easy for me, as a traveller.
Might it be better to use a MiFi unit so I can use the iPhones as well??
