ATT Mobile Hotspot

Just got 64 GB IPAD 2(WiFi only). Going to visit Spain soon and I was thinking of getting the ATT mobile hotspot. How would this work in Spain and does it pay to even get it (free but with monthly charge for 2 years). I don't have a smart phone at this point either.

When you land in Spain purchase a SIM, should be cheap. Plus you'll have WiFi in your hotel.
