Does anyone know how to set Atomic as the default browser without deleting Safari entirely from the iPad? With both browsers loaded tapped hotlinks default to Safari but I'd like them to default to Atomic. There doesn't appear to be a setting that shuts off Safari nor one in Atomic either but I may be missing something. Thanks.

You're not missing anything. Safari is the browser supplied by Apple and can not be deleted you can not make another browser the default browser. Sorry!

Yeah, kinda sucks, but what are you gonna do? Even with Windows you can make another browser the default.

After some playing around with Atomic I did find a workaround. It's in the Atomic settings called "Install Bookmarklet." Basically it allows you to open any Safari browsed site with Atomic using a single tap and it works perfectly. Safari is still the default browser but it is now easier to use Atomic from within any given site.

If your iPad is Jailbroken you can use SB Settings to launch Atomic as the default. Works nicely.

If you are jail broken, you can install the tweak from Cydia called Browser Changer. At the same time, you can install a toggle for SBSettings called Browser Changer SBSettings Toggle.

Once the tweak is loaded, you change to your preferred browser via the Settings app (note that not all the browsers are compatible ... but the majority of the more popular ones are). Then, you can use the toggle to turn on/off the default.

Otherwise, yeah, the only default browser on the Pad is Safari.
