Apple ID No Longer Recognizable

Changed email carrier (Verizon to Comcast). Unable to process app updates (iPad3, iOS7) as it asks for password to the original Apple ID (email to Verizon no longer exists). In Settings the new email/ID was accepted under the iTunes & App Store which enables ability to download an app... but system apparently still running old ID. Any suggestions to have new ID change accepted en total would be appreciated.

Hi, welcome to iPF!

The apps purchased with the old Apple ID are still connected to it. All you should have to do is enter the password for that Apple ID, and they should update.

Assuming, you created a completely new Apple ID for Comcast: the old ID will still exist. Go to this site:
https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
Choose "Manage your Apple ID", enter your old ID and change the password there so that it's the same one you're using for the new ID. Thus you don't have to remember each time when you need to update an app, which password to write.

Thanks for your instruction. Makes sense to have apps and email association, but (Your Apple ID or password was entered incorrectly. ) is the response I received. Seems the association is broken by the carrier change. I am unable to create a new password for the old email/ID because I cannot get a link sent to a non-existent email address to complete the confirmation process. Still searching for a remedy...

Do you mean that you were using your Verizon email address as your Apple ID?

In that case you should be able to change your Apple ID (without actually changing your account)
Apple ID: Changing your Apple ID

You'll still need your old Apple ID password (not the Verizon email password), or remember your three security questions.

Good luck.
