I got my 72 year old father an iPad for Xmas and need an App that allows remote access to the iPad to help him out. It is very difficult to find/search for this since most quiries bring back apps to use the iPad to VNC control other PCs! I want to do the complete opposite: control the iPad from a remote PC. Suggestions are welcomed and thanks!

App to allow vnc connections INTO an iPad?

Unfortunately, no, not on a stock iPad. There is a way to control an iPad using the Cydia tweak Veency - but again, that's on a jail broken iPad. If you did install it - I'm not familiar with how well it would work if you weren't on the same network. But - it is possible on a jail broken device and I'm sure a bit of fiddling can get it to work...
