Does anyone know if the iPad 1 can use this feature where what shows up on your iPad screen comes through your tv via ATV?

Cheers

No, it is only an iPad 2 feature. And yes, you use apple tv to do the mirroring.

I thought the iPad (iPad1) would do AirPlay as long as it was running iOS 4.3 or above.

Well yes, the iPad 1 is compatible with AirPlay and you can stream pictures, videos, etc. BUT, if you are talking about the new iOS 5 feature where you can mirror apps via AirPlay, then that is an iPad 2 feature only.

Nope, not going to worry today about something that won't go live publicly for another four months or so. :D

I jailbroke my ipad and I was able to mirror my display on my TV using the VGA adapter. The app was kind of unstable so I removed it. But there is a way to do this.
