Airdrop works from Mac to iPad, not the other way

The iPad “sees” the M1 Mac, and gives me the “Waiting” indication, but never sends the file - which in today‘s issue was 6 KB. Going from the Mac, no issue.

Thank you in advance for any clues about what might be the impediment!

On my MacBook Air, there is a tripple ding/beep, and the Downloads folder opens in finder. Check the Download folder to be sure the file(s) didn’t transfer. Just in case they are getting there in stealth mode.

There is very little indication that the file successfully transferred on the iPad’s side. A brief waiting icon next to the AirDrop icon, then it was doen. Like you, the file wasn’t large. Just a screenshot.

I run a VPN on my iPad and it seems to interfere with Airdrop on occasion. If you are running a VPN on either device, you might try disabling it.
