Looking at the spec, only the USA spectrum is covered. No coverage for 800Mhz or 2600mhz, can't see a reason to buy this if you are based in Europe

part from the fact it'll probably take another 15 years or so until we in the UK get 4g rolled out nation wide

Indeed but as I understand things most MNO's have made space available for the equipment so it really relies on ofcom completing the spectrum sale.
There is a trial network from O2 in London, and some other trials in the uk, Germany is quite advanced as is Sweden.
