Hi Pattykax - welcome to the forum! :)

Well, you need to really explain the type of 'word processor' you seek, e.g. one that may bring in MS Word documents? There are many options - BUT, keep in mind that FREE is not always BEST - sorry!

Please provide some further information and suggestions may be made either free or at a modest fee, e.g. Pages is only $10 - good luck!

    Welcome to the forum.

To the best of my knowledge none of the decent word processors are free. The closest you could come is to use Google Docs. The iPad (mobile) version of the site is limited to basic text entry, but you can visit the full desktop version of the site to spruce things up later.
