Just had an ipad2 for Christmas. I had the idea that it was a small computer and that I could write documents on a word processor, save them and send them as attatchments. Was I correct or not?

Well, yes you can but you may want to get a keyboard to go with it, the onscreen keyboard is fine but I always go with a proper keyboard (I use the Apple wireless keyboard FWIW) for serious typing.

Another member receiving an iPad as a Xmas gift!! Welcome to the forum!! You are going to love playing with your iPad with games, emails, surfing the web etc! So much to do with it!
While I have used my laptop less since I purchased my iPad, I still find myself having to use my desktop for more advance tasks.

    Enjoy your wonderful gift!
