You could try turning off both the keyboard and the iPad and turning them back on again. If the Zagg keyboard is fairly new it should still be under warranty.

If it's bluetooth, then make sure the battery is fully charged. Keyboards can get weird when the charge is marginal. Otherwise, it's probably a fault in the keyboard, and you have little choice but to replace it.
