Upgrading from 16gb to 64gb steps?

I am upgrading from 16gb to a 64gb. What are the steps to do this without losing any purchased apps, books and other info? Also how to de-register the old iPad? Thanks in advance for your help for a new user.

Just use iTunes to sync and backup your current iPad. Then restore it to stock it won't retain any info. After you get your new one just restore it with your backup when iTunes prompts you.

iTunes will allow you to add or delete devices. Additionally, it will keep your apps so th short version -- iTunes will!
