Unable to remove photo's

i have 1.9 Gbyte of photo's on my iPad. I'm able to select them but the wastebasket icon remains gray. (Grayed out). What to do in order ro remove all this photo's?

This sounds like you synced these images to your iPad using iTunes. In that case, it's not possible to remove them on the iPad itself. You'll have to connect your device to the computer/iTunes once more to remove them.
