Deleted mail goes into trash bin.
Does trash have to be emptied periodically?

You can set up your iPad to automatically remove deleted messages, if you want to.

'Settings', 'Mail, Contacts, Calendar', 'Accounts', <select the account you want to change>, 'Account', 'Advanced', 'Deleted Messages', 'Remove', <select how frequently you want them removed>.
