Do your computer speakers have built-in amplification? If so, it's not a problem at all. Most people who want better quality audio hook their stereo system up to the iPad via the headphone socket.

I don't even have a home stereo system. I hook up my iPad up to a pair of Bose computer speakers that I bought at Sam's Club for $67. They sound awesome.
