Setting up mail account

    My email account is screwed up. I fear I've done something trying to fix the fact that I have not been able to send or receive mail, unless I went online through Safari, and went to my Yahoo account. What can I do to get the mail icon on my iPad desktop functioning properly?

    G'day bar51 and welcome to the forum.
    You could try this: Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then:
    1) First make sure that the "Mail" slide is set to "On". If it was, then I suggest you do this:
    2) in Mail/Contacts/Calendars, delete the Account and then re-enter the Mail Account settings required by your ISP.
    That has helped some others. Hopefully for you too. Let's know how you got on.
