Hi all.

I have found in the last couple of days that on my ipad2, whenever I use the google search within safari and then click on a link I get the following :

--------------------------
Redirect Notice
The previous page is sending you to http://www.apple.com/uk/.

If you do not want to visit that page, you can return to the previous page.
--------------------------

The link shown is always the link of whichever page I have just clicked on. This is happening every time and to be honest is getting really annoying. Is this something that can be fixed?

Cheers in advance
Dave

I would try going to 'Settings', 'Safari' and clear the cache and history files.

Also, double click the Home button to open the multi-task bar. Then press any icon in the multi-task bar until they all start to jiggle. Now press the upper left-hand corner of the Safari icon to close Safari completely (only closes it, does not delete it).

Now press the Home button again to close the multi-task bar and start Safari again and see if the problem persists.

Get back to us if the problem hasn't been solved.

Good Luck...

Tim

It looks like it has been sorted now. I deleted all the Cookies as well as the History & Cache and it seems to be working a treat now.

Thanks for the help guys

This just started happening to me out of the blue in the middle of the day after working fine up to that point.
I have cleared my cache and history numerous times and opened the multiple-task bar and closed all tasks including Safari.
It's still happening!
Any other ideas?!

Thanks!

Everything worked as promised. But, I would like to know where this came from -- or why it started today out of the blue, so to speak.

I just got a new iPad 1 and am having this same problem when trying to view any google groups link. I've cleared my cookies, data and history, no luck.

Yes, I cleared my cookies.

Hi to both of you and welcome to the Forum!

Have you closed the safari app completely also? When an app behaves strangely it is best to close it completely and then relaunch it. From the home screen do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button to reveal your multi task bar. These are all the apps that you have opened at one time. Long press the app until it jiggles and a red minus sign will appear above it. Press the minus sign, this will close the app, not delete it, now press the home button to return to your screen. It's also a good idea to close all these apps, as it helps the iPad run smoothly. Let us know how you go.
