I've been seeing occasional posts about something called "screen bleed" on the ipad 2. What is it? How widespread is it? And if your machine has it, what can be done about it?

If your display looks something like the one below in the darkness, you have screen bleeding, I.e. light shines through the edges/corners of the display.

It can only be fixed by Apple, so you would have to exchange your device.

I called Apple and asked them about the screen bleed issue. The guy on the phone said "this is the first I've heard of it". He quickly Googled it and found out what it was. He then said that it can't be too widespread b/c if it was, those working in customer service would know about it b/c they would be the first to hear the complaints about it. Go figure...
