Please help with connecting iPad to TV

Hello I have a question about using my iPad.

I recently got an iPad 2.

I also got a cable to connect the ipad to my TV (ordinary Samsung, not Apple TV). When I play videos that are on my iPad (that I have bought or put on) it comes through fine.

However, I cannot play videos streamed from apps and the Internet.

How do I make this happen?

The app you use to stream videos needs to be Airplay compatible. If not, shop around the App Store for one that is.
