Photos won't download

I cannot download photos from my email to my iPad Air. I send them as attachments, I tap them, I'm told they're downloading, but they show up nowhere in m photos. This is very frustrating. I never had that problem with my old Ipad. Has anyone else encountered this,and is there a fix?

Welcome to iPadForums!

After tapping them and downloading them to the Mail app, tap and hold on one of the photos, then a popup will appear. Select "Save Images" to get them to the Photos app.
