photo titles

Is it possible to name / title specific photos with the default photo app on the IPad mini or does one have to purchase a specific app and which is the better one ?

Unfortunately, no there is no way to name a photo in the Photo app. So, yes, you'll need a separate app to do so.

While there are undoubtably hundreds of photo management apps in the AppStore, the one I use is PhotoManager ($2.99, USD, link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photo-manager-pro/id393858562?mt=8). It's a very robust app with lots of features.

I am sure others will be along to tell you of their favorites. Hopefully, you will then be able to find one to use among the suggestions. Good luck in your search.
