Photo & Camera - No Files but 4.5 Gigs of Storage Used

I have deleted all photo and video files from my iPad 2. However, Storage shows that Photo and Camera App and data files are still sucking up 4.5 gigs of space. How can that be? Does the app itself take up that much space? If not what can I do to free the space

Have you checked the deleted photos folder in the photos app? Deleted photos are sent there where they remain for 30 days and still count towards the storage used. You can delete the photos from the deleted folder and the storage used by the photos app should decrease.
