Hi, my husband has loads of emails to delete, can he do this in a block or does he have to delete wash email separately.

You can delete them all at once. When you first open the Trash, at the top right you will see a button labeled "Edit." After you press it, look at the bottom left. There should be a button titled "Delete All." Pressing that button will get rid of all those Trash e-mails.

Yes you can delete Trash email all at once as Mickey330 has said, if you mean deleting emails in your inbox the fastest and easiest way is in landscape mode, on the left hand column at the top you will see Edit press this and the column will shift to the right, go down the column pressing on the emails to delete, once you have them all selected, press delete which is at the bottom.
