Mixed up IPads

I purchased my IPad 2 in the USA just under a year ago, whilst staying there for a while. There was no Apple store nearby so I did not receive any help in setup, etc. I used a friend's Apple laptop to set it up. He has an IPad 1. Somehow, my IPad became designated with his name and vice versa. This didn't seem to cause any problems in the past, however he has just let me know that he cannot sync his I-phone or his I-Pad. Does anyone have any ideas about (a) how this might have happened? (b) why it has just started causing problems recently? (c) what we can do about it? (I won't physically be in the US again until later this year).

Your iPad might be logged in on his computer under his name but your password. I suggest having him log off on his iTunes and log back in under his password.
