Lost contacts on iPad 2

If one has never synced their iPad 2 to a computer (because one doesn't have a computer) how is it possible to retrieve
Contact list that was lost after adding a new contact manually?

There has to be an easy answer and way.

Have you been backing up through iCloud. If so, check and make sure you're backup is before you lost the contact, then restore. Do it soon, since your backup will automatically update (if set that way). When it does, the old data will be gone.

Hate to lecture, but you should never trust your important data to just one place, especially if it's a mobile device. Pick a service like GMail or iCloud, and sync your contact and other data. Or find another backup solution than Apple's. It's fragile, in that you only get one backup (the most recent) and you have to restore the entire device.

These do exist in the App Store, on a app by app basis. I can't recommend one though, since I don't use them.
