Mickey330 said:Are you in the Maps app or using Find My iPad? In other words, in which app are you that shows the inaccurate location? And, does your iPad have 3G or is it WiFi-only?
If we know a few more specifics, we should be able to help answer the question. Thanks.

P.S.. I deleted your other thread you started today on this same topic. Making more than one post not only fragments the conversation and makes it hard to follow - it's against the forum rules. Please keep any follow-ups, discussion or updates on this topic to this thread; do not start another. Thanks for your understanding.
It is the maps app I only have the wi-fi thanks for the heads up regarding the forum rules looking forward to some help

Anyway, it's probably because your wi-fi service in the house is not registered (or incorrectly registered) in Apple's map database. When you step outside the iPad can probably see other wi-fi networks, and uses them to triangulate your location. A wi-fi only iPad is never terribly accurate with it's location data. If you're within a block, you're doing about as well as can be expected.
To fix it, all I can recommend is having a friend with an iPhone or wi-fi + cellular iPad visit you a few times, and check his/her location in Maps. This will send anonymous data to Apple coupling your wi-fi hotspot with a GPS location. Eventually that should work itself into the map data and fix the problem.
I'd recommend using the Report a Problem link in the Maps app, but I don't believe they have an option for correcting wi-fi location data.
Thanks for the tip I will be attempting that really soon
