What is the diffrence between "Jailbreaking" an ipad-iphone vs "Unlocking"
Unlocking is a specific issue for phones only and allows you to use a SIM card from any carrier, not just the one you are contracted to. In order to unlock you must first be jailbroken. Then you must have the right baseband (modem) version. Not all basebands can be unlocked.
The iPad3G models come factory unlocked so there is no need to worry about unlocking!
jailbreaking allows you to install software on your phone not approved by apple (read: doesn't just mean pirated apps)
unlocking means you're no longer locked to the network you bought your idevice from. on a locked device, you can't use the sim card of other carriers in your device. with an unlocked device, it works with any sim.
thank you for clarifying that!
Jailbreaking and unlocking an Iphone is born together steps for Iphone. Jail breaking is to make your iphone access to third party applications..once you jailbreak your iphone you need to unlock it. jailbreaking your iphone can be done only through your current software version which your phone has. it may be of redsnow/cydia/yellowsnow.. what ever it may be the following are the steps for jailbreaking.
the same steps follows to other softwares too only thing is the software differs. after jailbreaking your phone you need to unlock it.Only if you unlock it you can use any carrier to your phone.. you can unlock it using softwares or some other methods. if you ask me i will say remote unlocking is the best way to unlock iphones. to get this service you can contact some other providers who provides this service.
