Issues with ringer notification

Lately I have been constantly getting a notification about my ringer, it keeps on going back and forth telling me it's silent or it's on. It just started to do this randomly. I have tried rebooting my iPad mini, but I still get that annoying pop up, it
blocks what I'm trying to read or type! It will literally flicker back and forth on my screen. Is there a way to stop this? I've looked in settings and can't see anything obvious. So frustrating and annoying. :mad:

Check the side switch (near the volume rockers) if it is set to Mute (in Settings > General), and the switch is not fully in one or the other position, that might cause what you are describing.

Other than that, try these usual fixes, if you have not already done so.

When you have problems with an app it's a good idea to clear it from RAM.

Close/Clear the app:

iOS 6: With the problem app closed, double tap on the Home button to get the multitask bar. Tap and hold on any icon in the bar until they jiggle, then tap the minus sign on the problem app.

iOS 7: Double tap the Home button to get the multitasking display. Swipe up on the problem app's thumbnail image (not the icon).

If that does not work try a restart,

Restart: Hold down the power button until the power off slider appears. Slide it off. When the iPad finishes shutting down, hold down the power button again until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends you restart the iPad at least once a month.

and then a reset if that does not work.

Reset: Hold down the power and home buttons until the Apple logo appears. The iPad will reboot. This usually takes a bit longer than a restart.

Reset All Settings: Another, somewhat more drastic thing you can do is Reset All Settings. You'll find this under Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. It won't erase any of your content, apps, or accounts; but you will have to go through most of your other settings and re-tweak them back to your liking. Do not confuse this with Erase All Content and Settings.

I have the same problem, any fixes?

I have the same problem, and this is occurring 2 years after this report. I have gone thru the reported fixes but nothing helps. This just started yesterday out of the blue.. Anything else to suggest?

Make sure your case or whatever you have isn't pressing on the volume switches. Any bluetooth keyboard or headset might do the same thing if it is parired, on, and buttons are being pressed by accident.

Dents or other minor deformations next to the volumes switchs shold also be looked for.

There hasn't been a mute switch on the iPad since the iPad 4, so unless you have an older iPad that's unlikley to be the problem.

I know this comes too late for you, BUT thanks to your question and twerppoet s answer I managed to solve my problem. Twerppoet proposed a problem with the physical tablet itself AND I observed that when using the tablet lying down ( not recommended anyway) i might have bent it a bit when keeping it up with my right hand. So I bent my miniPad very carefully close to the volume knobs towards something I imagined being the original shape ( maybe 0,5 mm) AND it worked! No pop ups anymore....

Make sure your case or whatever you have isn't pressing on the volume switches. Any bluetooth keyboard or headset might do the same thing if it is parired, on, and buttons are being pressed by accident.
