Is my dock connector broken? Can you please double check yours for me?

So the dock connector is not connecting as smoothly as of late, so I had a look at the dock connector and there seems to be some missing plastic on the RHS of the dock. Can any members please confirm if my dock connector is broken and if so, will Apple replace it for me?

Hi Skuk21 - welcome to the forum!

The 'black' horizontal connection band in the middle should be well defined w/ sharp angles @ the ends - in the pic shown, the edges look quite frayed to me - I believe that you need to visit an Apple store or a reputable computer store that services Apple products - whether you will get a 'free' fix (or replacement) depends on too many variables, so you'll just have to go & see what is suggested - good luck! :thumbs:
