iPad with Exchange Server - quick question

When I got all my email and such swapped over to an Exchange server and then got my iPad syncing up with said server, I was forced to put a passcode and it is turned on.

Am I correct in assuming that I will have to continue to use a passcode for as long as I am syncing with Exchange?

As far as I know, Yes.
I have not found a way around that requirement.

ok. That is fine. It is more important my email/contacts/calendar are easily kept up to date without computer interference.
