Hi & thank you for the opportunity to ask a question!
I have just updated my Brother-in-Law's ipad, He has never updated it before, so it took many attempts (we only have satelite here in the Bush!).
Finally updated to ios 6. When I went to restore notes etc, it appeared to do the right thing, but there is nothing on the ipad. He is going to kill me!!
I have found the files on my laptop (Thanks to one of your answers here), but I can't open them.
I emailed them to his ipad, but Safari won't download them!!
Help.
Thank you so much in anticipation.

When you upgraded that iPad to iOS 6, did you make a backup beforehand? Then, did you use that backup to "restore from backup" when prompted by iTunes?

If no, check to see if you have a backup anyway as sometimes iTunes makes a backup on its own (before it upgrades). If there is one, connect the iPad and then find/click on the line that reads "restore from backup." You won't affect the new iOS. Just be aware that you'll need to have saved info put on the iPad since that backup (as that backup was a snap shot of that time).

Hopefully, those notes will be in that backup. So, give that a try? Good luck and do let us know how you get on.

Hi Marilyn,
Sorry I have taken so long to reply.
I did do a backup & did the "restore from backup", but nothing restored.
I may not have backed up to iTunes?
Have found the files on my laptop, but they won't open. Says file Type:File.
Access to the ipad in question may be a little difficult at the moment, will try & get hold of it soon.
Thanks again,
Beth
