Ipad problem

Hi i smashed my ipad mini 1st gen, so on replacing the screen after removing it on the top right of the ipad under the screen the is a black cable about 1/2" thick anyone know what it is for. As my one is split and at first everything looked fine but some times when pressing the screen a different part of the screen will pick it up, if you understand me.

Cant get a pic as its all closed plus not with me just now

Any help its getting worse it now will jump back pages its self also starts typing its self got a pic of the cable

Have a look at this site.....they show a tear down of the mini and hopefully will name the part you have damaged. Hope it helps
