The app is called find my iPhone and works with iPods, iPhones and iPads. It's a free app from the App Store.

Once the app is set up it will quickly locate your device as long as it's connected to the Internet.

If you install the app on the iPad and the iPad gets lost, how can you use the app to find it?

I use the utility on the iCloud web page at: https://www.icloud.com You can log in (using your Apple ID and password) to any computer connected to the internet and find your iPad that way. It's called "Find my iPhone", but it works with the iPad
