Final Fantasy III for iPad has finally arrived in the App Store, following on from the successful launch of the iPhone/iPod touch version of the game back in March. The iPad game features fully remade 3D graphics which take full advantage of the iPad’s capabilities, as well as story sequences exclusive to the iPad. The smooth, intuitive touch-panel controls have also been specially adjusted to be compatible with the iPad, and the Job Mastery cards have been specially redesigned for the iPad version as well.

Final Fantasy III was first released in 1990, and tells the story of four youngsters caught in a grand adventure centred around mysterious crystals. It’s the first in the iconic series to feature the ability to summon monsters, such as Shiva and Bahamut, which has gone on to become such an integral part of the Final Fantasy franchise. Final Fantasy III was also the first game in the series to introduce a job change system that lets characters change classes at any time.
