Contacts and Address Book Do Not Match

I have an iCloud account, a Macbook Pro and an iPad. The contacts on my iPad do not match the contacts on my Macbook even though I have done a sync, made sure Contacts is checked under iCloud preferences, and, in iTunes with the iPad attached to the Macbook, have All Contacts checked.



Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Turn off the All Contact in iTunes. This is a poor way to sync contacts, and only works when you manual sync the iPad anyway. Best to leave the Info tab alone. It's mostly legacy from before MobileMe and then iCloud became available.

Instead, go to your System Preferences > iCloud on the Macbook and turn on Contact syncing there. Make sure you sign in with the same Apple ID as you use for iCloud on the iPad.
