Calendar wiped out

Does anyone know why my past calendar events were wiped out on my iPad? I just opened up the calendar to look at something and all past events are gone. I have 6.1.2

Hi, welcome to iPF!

Go to Settings - Mails, Contacts, Calendars - Calendars - Sync. There, you're able to choose:
