How do you get these themes?
You jail break your iPad and then go to Cydia (the jail breakers "App Store") and browse for a theme. There are a lot out there, some free, some paid (most of the good ones are paid ... though only a couple of [USA] bucks at the most).
But, you have to jail break first...
This theme has just been updated for ipad2 and ipad3 so well worth a look in Cydia, just search Boxor and see all the different ones.
They have also done a special white or black edition for ipad specifics!
All i can say is WOW!!!
I've just downloaded the package and am so impressed with the easy way to change weather location and the pinned items.......no need to use ifile!!!! So all the main changes on the primary screen can be accessed from an edit button, this includes rotation, pinned apps and weather location! So easy, even i can do it ;-)
To extend its uses then ifile must be used, but a very concise readme is included in the files, explanations and links to extra icons and widgets! It even tells you exactly how to change the lines of code......even a novice to ifile can truly controlthis theme. Well done to its designer, he truly has pushed the boundaries on this, sorry I'm waffling!
This app is truly awesome, and i honestly cannot recommend it enough!
Buy it, install it and be truly mesmorized by it.
Is dreamboard ok with the new ipad. Just curious. I would love to try out this theme. Thank you
Well, you convinced me, Chris! I went and bought it and now have it installed on my iPad3 (yes, there's a retina version out now). Here's my main screen:
Now if I can just figure out how to use Photoshop [better] to make my own big icons. I've got the template (provided by the developer) but I can't seem to get it to work.
Anyone reading this care to give me some minor Photoshop tips? Pleeeeeeease?!
Anyway. This is a wonderful way to use the iPad. I've spent an enjoyable afternoon making this theme 'just right." I like it so much that I've removed most of the other things from the default view (e.g. gridlock, FolderEnhancer, etc.). Figure if I'm not going to really use them, then why have them running.
So, I'm here to tell you: Best $2.99 (USD) I've spent in a while. Lovin' it!
Now, if I can just get these durn icons made ...
EDIT TO ADD: Yes, this theme has been updated to include a version for the iPad3. It's called "BoxorHD for iPad (Retina)," so make sure that's the one you get if you have an iPad3. It's only in black right now, although the developer has said he's working on a white theme... I have an iPad3 and so far, so good.
If you check out this link for icon help
Dreamboard Boxor HD for iPad - Page 32
Its the boxor forum, Goto page 32, down at the bottom, BoxorHD icon creation guide, its a video on making icons
Hope this helps Marilyn
Hey Marilyn, when you say you removed gridlock and folder enhancers how would you do that. I have the infinifolders and gridlock and just curious how you would stop them. I downloaded the Boxor Theme and would love to play around with it. Thanks
Thanks, Chris, for the video. I'll give it another shot...
@musicman: To "get rid of" Gridlock and FolderEnhancer, I just wen to Cydia and uninstalled them. Again, so (for now) I won't be needing them while I use this theme, I didn't want them. So, I went to the Installed tab in Cydia and Removed them. After the respring, they were gone.
Hope this helps/clarifies.
Thanks Marilyn. I appreciate it.
