Is it possible to save a Numbers or Pages files directly to the screen so you don;t have to open the program first and then open the file? Rather just touch on the file icon and have it open directly.

No, afraid not, though I can see where it would be handy for presentations and such.

The only things that can be opened directly from the screen are apps, web apps, and web pages.
