Word/Note Application with accessibility while running a different application

Hello,

I am a student, and access most of my textbooks with my ipad. While linked to a bluetooth keyboard, I would like to take notes on a hidden application while viewing these textbooks through their designated applications. Is this possible? If so which application is best suited? If this is not possible what is the best note taking application?

It is not possible to have two applications active in this way on the iPad. The iPad's operating system is not truly multi-tasking in the Windows' sense of the word; rather it's a task switcher with some very limited multi-tasking capability. So it will not be possible to do this unless you have the books in PDF format, in which case you could use an annotation program to annotate those books.
