WiFi Disconnect and Password Problem

Ever since the 11.2.1 update, during the night when I'm not using the iPad it loses its WiFi Connection. I'll open the cover and the WiFi icon is missing and I have no connection. I then need to go to Settings and reconnect. to my network. The radio is obviously alive, because it sees my router (as well as several of my neighbor's' routers. And then comes the second half of the problem. My password is 10 characters long. Sometimes, but not always, The "Join" key on the keyboard turns blue on the 7th character, other times not, but I get either a "Wrong Password" prompt, or a "Cannot Join Network" prompt. A restart solves the problem.I suspect I'm dealing with two separate problems, but I'm lost. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

When your iPad loses it's WiFi connection at night, is it plugged into the charger when this happens?
When an iOS device is asleep and not plugged into a charger it will lose the WiFi connection but it should reconnect when you wake the device.

Thanks for the reply. No it’s not plugged in overnight. But, this is new behavior, at least for me. I never woke up the device to no connection until the latest update.

The connection should be automatically established when the iPad wakes up. That's been the normal behaviour for quite some time. If your WiFi connection isn't connecting automatically that’s not normal. The latest iOS update on my iPad did not result in the problem you're experiencing.
