White Ipad Owners Home button discoloration

i've had my ipad since launch day last march and ive just noticed when i peeled back my screen protector that the color of my home button had a darker shade of white then around the bezel. the bezel looked sparky white while the button looked kinda old.

does anyone else have this problem? or is it just me?
