What do you use your Side Switch for?

I have no clue as to what or where the side switch is. From your posts, it must be a lock of some kind?

The side switch is the little switch on the upper right side of the device. It can be used as lock rotation or mute.

I use mine to lock orientation. Nothing annoys me more than to have the screen shift while I'm reading.

I use rotation lock. Because I need fast access to it to change the orientation depending on what app I am using.

I've always used mine for mute since I've had the devices. Never for rotation lock, I don't really see any reason to use it.

I use mine for rotation lock, I just use that operation more than mute (or rather, un-mute).
