Cult of Mac has a really cool story today from Macworld, where Chris Noessel and Nathan Shedroff gave a talk based on their upcoming book, “Make It So – Learning from SciFi interfacesâ€. Noessel and Shedroff’s work involves studying how sci-fi interfaces in the movies actually make the transition into real life, and from real life into the movies. One of the really fascinating things to come out of the presentation that Cult of Mac attended was the fact that Noessel and Shedroff believe that Steve Jobs may have deliberately placed an early version of the iPad (pictured) in the 2004 Pixar movie The Incredibles, to see if the audience was receptive to the idea of a tablet computer. Apparently this isn’t the first time the theory has come up either, but Cult of Mac says that Noessel and Shedroff are the first to state that what people see in the media may predispose them to certain “interface solutionsâ€.
