Virtual Keyboard freaking out!

What cause my virtual keyboard to pop up on its own. It it won't just swipe away and the little keyboard down button won't work either, seems to just go away on its own. very frustrating

Try a reset. This won't remove data or settings, perhaps it will help with your keyboard.
Press and hold Home and Power button until you see the Apple logo. Let go of both. Your iPad will power up on it's own.

Dear beachbabe41,
I suggest you do a soft reboot (hold the power button and home for 5 seconds till the apple logo appears). This issue seems to be due to lag it has appeared from a text box even though you haven't selected the input box (/text box). Does this happen in certain apps? If so what apps. If not how often does it happen?

If you read my message, you'll notice that the reset I explained is the same as your soft reboot. I'm wondering why you think you'd have to repeat my advice.
