Uploading an Avatar

I just decided to risk eternal exile from iPad world by uploading an Avatar to my profile on this Forum (potentially ghastly sight). I noted the recommendation that the image be at least 200x200 px, and I tried to upload an image that is 216x220 px. My Avatar was rejected because it exceeded the limit of 50 KB (it's 108 KB).

It strikes me that you can't have both!

What's the secret here?

Interesting. My avatar is more than 600 KB. I've tried uploading it again, and it worked without problem, on my iPad Pro. If you used your computer when you tried adding an avatar, do the same on your iPad.

Pray, tell! How does one upload an Avatar from an iPad?

At the top right, tap your username, then select Avatar:

Select "Use a custom avatar", and then "Choose file".

The next screen allows where to upload the avatar from:

Choose the one you prefer, select your avatar, and save it (the blue Okay button, at the bottom).
