Updating Apps when in the US

iPF Noob
I am from Canada and Apple (iPad) will not let me update my apps while I am in the US. Very frustrating as I cannot get in to the app until the update is done. These are all free apps.

Any fixes for this?
 
Can you tell me why this is necessary? Why the restrictions with Apple that will not allow cross border usage?

It's all about syndicated content and licensing agreements. Apple has taken the easy way out of dealing with this by restricting access to cross border stores, but it's just their way of upholding their license agreements.
 
The iTunes support team gave me the correct answer:

Go to settings > iTunes & App Stores, tap the Apple ID, and sign out. Then
turn the device off, and then turn it back on. When it turns back on, please
go to settings > iTunes & App Stores, sign back in, and try again.

The apps updated..

Does the problem return when you cross back requiring the same actions to clear??
