touchscreen not working

my ipad is on the slide to unluck menu but id doesnt slide and when i
try to slide to turn power off i doesn't work either any tips would be great

try a hard reset. Press and hold the Sleep and Home button at the same time till the Apple logo appears. This will reset the system. Then try the touch screen again. If that doesn't work then bring it to your nearest Apple store. Hopefully your iPad is still under warranty....
