MacRumors reports that according to Barclay Research analysts Blayne Curtis, Christopher Hemmelgarn, Thomas O’Malley, and Jerry Zhang, sources in Apple’s Asian supply chain say that Apple is set to launch three new iPad Pro models in March 2017.
The new models would include refreshed 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch versions, and a brand new bezel-free 10.9-inch model.
The analysts said in a new research note seen by MacRumors that the 10.9-inch bezel-less model would have an edge-to-edge display, and would be the same overal size as the current 9.7-inch iPad Pro.
It may well not have a home button, although this was not mentioned in the report. With other recent rumours saying that the 2017 iPhone might also not have a home button, maybe Apple is looking to unify the design.
The Barclays analysts say that they think that the 9.7-inch model will be a “low-cost” version on a par with the 7.9-inch iPad mini, which they do not expect to be refreshed next March.
