Tablets are becoming more and more embedded into our daily lives and Apple’s iPad, as the king of the hill, is the most looked for device thanks to its versatility and multiples uses. According to a new report from The Washington Post newspaper, the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is upgrading its image by using Apple’s iPads.

The airport’s shopping and dining areas are getting upgraded in order to lure passengers into spending more cash before they fly off. For that, iPads could be deployed at full service spa units, iPad bars, restaurants and other shopping areas. Lori Aratani from the Washington Post says that the iPads could be used for playing games or to check e-mails:

Details are still being worked out, but folks who come to the airport will be able to check e-mail and perhaps play a game of Candy Crush on one of several publicly available iPads. Those seeking relaxation could unwind at the full-service spa. The revamped offerings are set to come in Spring 2015, an airport spokesman said.

Terminal A of the Reagan airport is undergoing a $37 million makeover in order to make the space lighter and more spacious. To accommodate the huge number of those who fly through its gates, new flooring and additional windows have been installed. Almost 21 million passengers flew through the Reagan National airport in 2013. If you happen to fly from or to the Reagan National airport, let us know if the iPads have already been installed. One thing wasn’t mentioned, though - what will be the exact iPad version that will be used.
